1. Gruffalo
"There is no such thing as a Gruffalo". Its been my baby's favourite line while reading the book. She tried to find out from children's encyclopedia if there is a thing called gruffalo. She adores that book.
The books in a subtle way talks about having courage in any situation that u are in. A little mouse who is confronted by danger and how cleverly he manages the situation. Having said that, its a funny, read-aloud books with rhyming sentences that takes the heart away of little ones.

2. Gruffalo's Child
Gruffalo's child is a extension of the same story and is absolutely lovable again. Recommended only after reading 'Gruffalo'. Then the kids are already in love with the mouse and his cleaver ways. Toddlers may not understand the subtle tale of courage but they definitely fall in love with the cutest rhyming sentences.
Mine read it at 4 years but she keeps picking both the Gruffalo's again and again. The illustrations are very cute. Axel Scheffler has done such a cute job with the illustrations. Gruffalo is such a cute monster that kids feel brave like the mouse.
3. The Snail and the Whale.
Such an excellent story about how capability has nothing to do with size. How a small little snail could help a big whale. It also subtly talks about how one can turn is assumed to be your disadvantage to an advantage. The little snail's part of the story talks about never give up on ur dreams... Just do what to can to realise them. Astounding story and lovely illustrations.
I am going to recommend this to adults as well. Children anyway are kind and they believe in themselves. It's the adults who loose faith.
4. Room on the Broom
A very sweet witch story. No, all witches dont do bad things. This witch keeps dropping her things while flying on her broom. She has room on her broom for everyone who helps her. The polite friends of the witch tells us unity and togetherness in a funny way.
Highly recommended.
5. The Smartest GIANT in Town
Another rhyming cutie by Julia and Axel. The giant moves from scruffiest giant to smarest giant to kindest giant in town. It talks about kindness being above the materialistic possessions and looks.
Very cute rhyming clicks a cord with the kids. Mine was found repeating the rhyme later as well " ... But look me up and down - I am the smartest giant in town"
