I should have seen the posts on the group before ordering. Entirely my mistake!! The neighbors wanted to do book exchange and mentioned how their son really enjoys reading Geronimo Stilton. So I thought of ordering a couple of them for mine. But after reading the posts here i realize that most mothers don't like it much. Since, most book in the household are ordered online by me, I could have easily avoided it!!!! frown emoticon frown emoticon

- Priya Prakash The books are not that bad... At one time my son wanted to read only that and had me order a few so he could exchange with his classmates in school!

- Smitha Nair Same with my daughter She was reading books ahead of her age... And when somebody gifted her Geronimo Stilton for her sixth birthday, the first thing she said was they have played with spellings of words by adding mouse for eg mouselicious! She enjoyed a couple of books but not a great fan of them! The book does enough for geography though!

- Kakoli Bagchi I myself as an adult did not enjoy Geronimo Stilton. I am a teacher... a freelancer. Kids who did not read before... have started reading with these books

- Sheeba Manish Never mind the mothers..the kids love them. Junk food in bookland.)). But it was the Stilton that got my kiddo reading and then graduating to other books.

- Ritu Sengupta Sengupta Ya even I have seen a lot of kids who love the Geronimo Series .I too feel that let them read and decide what they like .There is nothing like forced reading suggestions .Moms am I right ?

- Ritu Sengupta Sengupta Personally even though I don't like them but since all friends of my kid are reading it ,he too wanted to read it and so he does .Given the fact that this is not the only series he reads ,I m at peace totally .

- Pallavi Rao I think there's a place for a Geronimo kind of book too. Its not unlike the Tintin and Asterix comics (albeit less witty) I read as a child(and still return to for fun once in a while now) where there's a play on words. I wouldn't recommend it for someone trying to improve their English, but for a child who has a broad range of other books, I see no harm in having this on the shelf too smile emoticon

- Aarthi Lourdes Ganesh I personally did not like the language. I find it a bit slapstick and colloquial. My 6 yr old found it plain boring. For whatever reason, I see more boys enjoying the book than girls. So one book will do no harm, if it is a series, you could cancel it. For that price, you could buy a lot more intelligence

- Roopa Venkataramaiah Oh! I really didn't know this . my son who is seven seems to love the series. He even picked up a few on his birthday.
  I am a teacher so even suggested Geronimo Stilton to my students 😑

- Koyel Says exactly. we all have been through theis phase when what we loved to read was dismissed by our parents but we stuck to our choice. later on we realized how foolish it was to read those books and fight over them. like we laugh today at our childishness our kids would laugh too. children who read books would soon get over Stilton series. they would simply outgrow it.
