Esio trot by Roald Dahl

Esio trot by Roald Dahl is what we read yesterday. My 6 year old wasn't very keen on picking it up as the name 'Esio trot' didn't sound very welcoming (i guess). So i said "lets read at the back what the book is about". She gladly accepted the offer and read "Have u ever wanted to become something else? I bet it wasn't a tortoise…."
Just the first line was enough to lure her. I added immediately " I would like to be a butterfly and suck honey out of flowers". She didn't reply. I guess she was thinking what she wanted to become.
Well, the book isn't about becoming something else. It about Love and tortoises. And the word 'Esiotrot' is just 'Tortoise' spelt backwards. The book has a little 'grow up' rhyme spell entirely spelt backwards. Mine took fancy of spelling things backward and tried spelling her name that way.
The book also in a subtle way talks about - 'Patience' and how growth is slow and it cannot really be accelerated. It also talks about how shy people can also become a 'Hero' if they want to.
